Linda Spenceley is originally from Queens,
N.Y.
where she was a member of St. Leo Parish. She is an alumna of St.
Francis Preparatory High School in Fresh Meadows, Queens.
She and her family have lived in Hernando
County for the past 24 years. She
holds a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Social Science and an M.A. in
Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling from the
University
of South Florida. She is
a licensed mental health counselor, a certified rehabilitation
counselor, and a national certified counselor. Her employment
history includes positions in business, healthcare, education,
social work and parish ministry. She is the former Director of
Religious Education at St.
Frances, and as a member of St.
Frances Cabrini Parish, she has served in various ministries
including youth ministry and RCIA. In addition, she has participated
in several distance learning theology classes offered by
Franciscan
University. She began working
as a Pastoral Counselor at the parish in July, 2004. She frequently
attends continuing education classes and conferences in the areas of
marriage and family therapy, anxiety and mood disorders, trauma, and
behavioral disorders. Her professional organization memberships have
included the American Counseling Association, Suncoast Mental Health
Counselor Association, Counselors for Social Justice, International
Association of Marriage and Family Counselors, and the Tampa Bay
Association of Marriage & Family Therapists. For information
