The Church needs to hear from you.
You’re invited to participate in Pope Francis’s Synod. A synod is a gathering to discuss challenges that the Church faces and to discern together how to move forward following the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. This process is divided into two parts for the local churches. West Central Deanery is hosting the two parts at the following Deanery Synod Centers:
Part 1 will be held at St. Michael the Archangel Parish (Hudson) on Monday evening, December 13 at 7 p.m. in their Parish Center.
Part 2 will be hosted by St. Theresa Parish (Spring Hill) on Saturday, February 19 at 9 a.m.
All are welcome to these sessions.
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Pope Francis is calling on all of us to become better listeners. He’s inviting churches around the world to bring people together for listening and sharing opportunities. Various parishes around the Diocese of St. Petersburg will be hosting sessions this Advent and in 2022 for “journeying together” through Scripture, prayer, and faith sharing. Most of all, we will be listening to each other and to the Holy Spirit who is guiding the Church. Below you will find a list of regional sessions that are planned throughout our five counties. I invite you to participate. This website provides additional details about the Vatican Synod I also invite you to view my Advent video here. The Holy Spirit is moving us to live out our mission more profoundly so that we can be the Light of the World and bring the Light of Christ to others. We have had much to deal with over the past few years. Now more than ever, there is a need for healing from loneliness, sickness, and fear. Through each of us, the Holy Spirit provides clarity for our mission to share the love of Jesus Christ with those who are in need.
May God bless you!
Bishop Gregory Parkes
